All American Horse Challenge
The All American Horse Challenge (AAHC) is an event held annually in conjunction with the Norco Horse Affair. This exciting competition is a multi-sequence of classes combining total points for a top level championship title! This event was created by Mary Rose Anderson of MR Anderson Horsemanship who is a local trainer and has competed in a variety of disciplines with many championship titles in several versatility challenges. She created this event with a similar concept of overall performance and endurance to allow this thrilling challenge to feature competitors from the Roping, Cutting, Cowboy Racing, Dressage, Hunter Jumper, Gymkhana and Western Pleasure world. Riders compete in every capacity of these disciplines over the course of 4 days. There will be 4 divisions offered this year: “Youth” for riders between the ages of 12 and 17 years, “Amateur” for adults, and “Open” for the professional riders, and our new added “Royals” division featuring rides over the age of 55!
The AAHC will commence on Thursday evening at 7:00pm after the first day of activities are over of the Norco Horse Affair. Competitors will start with #1 In Hand and Ranch Riding and demonstrate their ground control and basic riding ability. While the Norco Horse Affair is continuing the next day, Friday, at 2:00pm riders will take a #2 Dressage test and be judged on their more advanced riding techniques. The following event will be #3 Trail & Trivia at 2:00pm on Saturday and they will then be scored on how they maneuver through an obstacle course and how well they answers questions health, history, safety, breeds, & part/equipment. The Finals will be held Sunday morning at 9:30am with #4 Hunt Hack for a jumping/gymkhana race and then the #5 Team Challenge to test their partnership/sportsmanship skills. Every event will start with an opening ceremony for American flag salute and prayer with a brief instruction of the event and the competitors introductions. Each event will start with our Open division competitors, followed by Amateur, and last out will be the Youth and Royal riders. At this time and throughout the weekend of events sponsors will be recognized as we will be having a FREE raffle give-away of prizes to the audience (must be present to win, sign up at the All American Horse Challenge booth) and each class will be presented with prizes consisting of sponsored items.
The AAHC Title Championship placings and awards will be presented after the last event is finished on Sunday around 11:30am. We hope to have all our riders receive a sponsored prize that COMPLETE & FINISH all events in this challenge! Interested in competing and challenging yourself in this new event??
